Purpose and Job Summary: The Real Estate Investment Strategies (REINS) Portfolio Management team of Lument is seeking to add a Portfolio Manager to be involved in the management of the new loan origination process. Reporting to the head of Portfolio Management, this new role will support REINS in evaluating and negotiating new loans for investment through internal/external relationship management, front-end screening, market intelligence and syndication as needed Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review/Screen investments packages provided by internal/external relationships.
  • Cultivate and manage both internal and external relationships through the full new loan origination process.
  • Aid in deal negotiation and structuring from an investor's lens.
  • Manage existing syndication relationships and form new relationships.
  • Regular outreach to educate stakeholders on REINS investment strategy.
  • Actively track market pricing/credit color on new loan origination.
  • Work with credit and asset management to coordinate external financing or sale of REINS loans to affiliated capital partners.
  • Work professionally and harmoniously with team, coworkers and external relationships.
  • Travel Requirements - 10%
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience: Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Finance, Business or Real Estate preferred; an MBA with Finance or Accounting concentration a plus, and credit trained individuals are preferred.
  • 7+ Years of Multifamily debt investment experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Multifamily credit and the origination process. Familiarity with agency lending requirements.
  • Demonstrated relationships across the Multifamily investment / lending industry.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of real estate valuation and advanced cash flow modeling via Excel
  • Familiarity with CLO's, agency loans, bridge loans, CMBS and the overall credit markets preferred
  • Team player with the ability to effectively manage negotiation and processes with various stakeholders involved.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines; Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions; Ability to adjust priorities in a changing environment.
