Job Description:

Natixis is seeking an Associate/VP-level Portfolio Manager who will oversee the Loan Portfolio for the US Book. The focus will primarily be on exposures related to Infrastructure/Project Finance, Electricity, and various commercial and investment banking products, including leasing & warehousing loans, margin-type finance loans, and related corporate banking products. He/She/They will be responsible for managing assigned loans after they are closed and held within the Americas portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the credit quality of a dedicated portfolio of loans or companies from closing through final maturity or other resolution, under the direct supervision of the Portfolio Management Head.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Originators to meet their client relationship needs while independently making credit and portfolio recommendations to anticipate credit risk issues. This includes assessing the need for credit rating changes, expected loss given default (LGD) changes, and recommendations for exposure adjustments over time.
  • Prepare annual reviews, quarterly reviews (if applicable), loan renewals, amendments, waivers, ratings, LGDs, and watchlist reports (in conjunction with the workout team), including provisioning for assigned borrowers.
  • Conduct specific quarterly portfolio reviews and assess opportunities for portfolio optimization for credit exposures within the assigned space.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain financial models, ensuring the accuracy of all credit ratings based on various specific rating methodologies and in compliance with the US regulatory framework.
  • Draft new deal opinions evaluating proposed transactions based on rating, return, and the attractiveness of new business opportunities as part of the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Origination and Risk departments to ensure timely upgrades and downgrades in ratings.
  • Work closely with internal Audit, Loan Review, Outside Auditors, and Regulators regarding questions and issues related to assigned borrowers.
  • Identify inefficiencies in organizational processes and propose remedies or improvements to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • CFA designation is a plus but not required.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in portfolio management, credit analysis, or experience with infrastructure/project finance or FI-based corporate analysis preferred.
  • Ability to effectively defend recommendations on new transactions at senior committee levels through oral and written presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with advanced skills in Excel (e.g., cash flow modeling capabilities).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively with internal partners.
  • Familiarity with legal lending contracts and regulatory aspects of banking is a plus.
  • Knowledge of macro creation and general object-based programming is beneficial.

The salary range for this position will be between $120,000 - $150,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
