The Opportunity MIM PE&C is seeking a
Portfolio Performance Associate to join its growing team MIM PE&C manages investments and client accounts across multiple investment programs that continue to grow and evolve. The individual will be responsible for providing operational support to the investment, investor relations, and management teams across MIM PE&C's investment programs. The individual will work with the team to meet all its performance and financial reporting requirements in a timely and efficient manner while promoting an environment of compliance, efficiency, accuracy, quality, and control.
Key Responsibilities Performance and Compliance Reporting - Prepare quarterly performance reporting and track records, and calculate performance returns at the deal level and fund level - IRR, Multiples, etc.
- Prepare standard and ad-hoc performance reports on a daily / monthly / quarterly basis that support various internal groups, portfolio management and executive management.
- Obtain strong understanding of performance calculations in various systems and calculate manually as needed.
- Respond to inquiries, on both a recurring and ad hoc basis related to performance data from internal and external groups.
- Conduct reviews of dataset and supporting files of analysts to ensure accuracy, quality, and all necessary steps have been performed well.
- Take the lead role in resolving data discrepancies in the reporting, while looking for better ways to distribute reporting as a whole.
- Coordinate quarterly compliance requests and AUM reporting.
Portfolio Management & Monitoring - Oversee all financial components of the firm's capital solutions includes equity co-investments, fund of funds, and mezzanine debt.
- Work closely with portfolio managers and associates from various programs on deal closing, and asset allocation among affiliate entities.
- Review fund governing documents, subscriptions documents, side letter, PPM, and investment management agreements to ensure proper application of fund terms, fee structures and reporting requirements
- Provide guidance to underlying operation teams on setting up new investments to internal systems and prepare for the initial funding.
- Prepare quarterly income projections/forecasts for each portfolio.
- Support the IR team with quarterly marketing materials as part of investor presentations and fundraising efforts.
- Provide timely support to clients, senior management, internal groups, and underlying fund sponsors through regular communications and ongoing diligence.
What We Are Looking For - BS or MS in Accounting, Finance, or a related major.
- At least 2-6 years of professional experience as an alternative investment manager in a portfolio management support role.
- Working knowledge of INVESTRAN preferred but not required.
- A good understanding of private equity investments and legal agreements.
- A good understanding of the concepts surrounding asset management operations from the front office to back office.
- Working knowledge of financial databases, preferably related to private equity investments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite with a strong understanding of Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to articulate information and ideas effectively.
- Demonstrate experience building and maintaining effective business relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Self-directed, analytical, and able to make sound judgments.
- Able to work independently and as a team member effectively.
