About the Program:
The Portfolio Rotation Program (PRP) is a 2-year rotational program that provides motivated early-in-career individuals the opportunity to learn the management principles behind drug development and commercialization. PRP participants will evaluate business strategies and options, develop program management expertise, support world-class science, and tap into numerous career development resources. The goal is to build a diverse talent pipeline of future industry leaders with drug development and commercialization experience and biopharmaceutical business expertise.
PRP participants will have the opportunity to rotate in the Program Management, Portfolio Management, and Commercial Strategy functions across the drug development life cycle at Genentech. Participants will be embedded in teams advancing potential medicines across the drug development life cycle (early preclinical development, Phase 1 to 3 clinical trials, and after commercial launch).
Rotations occur in the following departments:
At Genentech, the project management functions play a critical role in delivering transformative medicines to patients by driving strategic drug development planning, execution, and decision-making through cross-functional teams. The portfolio management functions take a holistic view of all the drugs in our development portfolio and different types of risk to generate objective business insights that frame and enable portfolio-wide decision making. Once a drug is approved, the strategic analytics & intelligence function uses competitive intelligence, primary insights, data analytics, access, and forecasting to unlock key insights for our internal partners that ultimately benefit healthcare providers and patients. Together, these functions will provide the PRP participant the holistic view, training, and experience to become a drug development professional within the biopharmaceutical industry.
