Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Provides administration support to assigned post-award administration for various sponsored programs activities to ensure that projects are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements. Processes procurement requests for externally funded grants and/or contracts following applicable policies and procedures. Handles award intake, budget reporting, and project end date management. Builds and maintains partnering relationships with internal stakeholders and assigned departments.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for an assigned departmental grant award portfolio

2. Advises on applicable policies and procedures for grant related travel, human resources, procurement, and compliance

3. Analyzes budgetary activity and availability and advises faculty on mechanisms for, and allowability of no-cost extensions

4. Reconciles grants and monitors rate of expenditures on a monthly basis and reports to faculty

5. Collaborates with Specialists and Sr. Specialists for review of grant related purchases

6. Responsible for the departments Purchasing Card (Pcard) and assists with electronic purchasing system processes

7. Processes procurement and reimbursement requests

8. Aids in sponsored program award intake and management of project end dates

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Required Experience

One (1) year related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Preferred Experience

One (1) year of experience working with sponsored programs preferred

Experience with grant and contract policies of Federal, state, and private sponsors

Experience with Cayuse or other electronic grants management system

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $22.05 to $27.88 per hour. Offers are based on relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies and/procedures that govern major federal and non-federal sponsors

Understanding of research administration roles and responsibilities for internal and external resources

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)

Strong attention to detail and follow up skills

Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
