Post Team Lead at IDEOLOGY

We're seeking a talented Post Team Lead to join our dynamic team at IDEOLOGY. Position Summary
The Post Team Lead oversees all post-production operations for IDEOLOGY. This role is responsible for maintaining post-production excellence, managing editor workload, establishing technical standards, and editing as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise & Software Proficiency
- Expert-level proficiency in professional post-production software including:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
- DaVinci Resolve (color grading and editing)
- Working knowledge of 3D animation software (Maya, Cinema 4D, or similar) is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues across multiple software platforms
- Stay current with software updates, new features, and industry standards
- Ability to provide software-specific training and guidance to team members
Hands-On Production Capabilities
- Maintain strong editing and animation skills to assist with projects when needed
- Ability to step in and execute hands-on work during high-volume periods
- Review and provide feedback on team members' work from a technical perspective
Project & Budget Management
- Review and analyze edit times to establish accurate project timelines
- Assist PMs and Producers with detailed budget estimates for post-production phases
- Monitor project progress against budgeted hours and costs
- Identify potential budget overages early and propose solutions
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize shoot-to-edit workflows
- Ensure projects maintain profitability while meeting quality standards
Post-Production Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate a team of editors, animators, and post-production contractors
- Collaborate with Creative Directors and Production Leads to assign and schedule post-production resources
- Monitor and balance editor workloads to ensure efficient project completion
- Conduct regular team meetings to review project status and address challenges
- Participate in performance reviews for post-production team members
- Identify training needs and professional development opportunities for the team
- Conduct regular reviews and feedback sessions with post team members
- Participate in performance reviews for post team members
- Experience with a variety of post-production software systems
Contractor Network Development & Management
- Build and maintain a diverse roster of specialized post-production contractors including:
- Video editors
- Motion graphics artists
- Animators
- Colorists
- VFX artists
- Sound designers
- Other post-production specialists
- Conduct portfolio reviews and technical assessments of potential contractors
- Match contractor capabilities with project requirements
- Establish rate cards and agreement templates for different contractor types
Innovation & AI Implementation
- Research and evaluate emerging post-production technologies and AI solutions
- Develop and implement AI-enhanced workflows for Post-Production where necessary.
- Test and validate new AI tools and workflows
- Train team members on new AI-enhanced processes
- Stay current with industry developments in AI and automation
Technical Systems Management
- Oversee and maintain all post-production tools and systems
- Manage editing suite configurations and software licensing
- Establish and update technical specifications for deliverables
- Research and implement new post-production technologies
- Ensure system redundancy and backup protocols
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate repairs
- Manage relationships with technical vendors and service providers
Project Archival & Asset Management
- Develop and enforce project archival standards and procedures
- Design and maintain digital asset management systems
- Establish naming conventions and folder structures
- Create and update documentation for archival processes
- Ensure proper backup and redundancy of archived materials
- Manage storage resources and plan for future needs
- Coordinate with clients on archival requirements and deliverable specifications
- Maintain archive catalog
Resource Planning
- Forecast post-production resource needs
- Review budgets to verify we are scoped accurately
- Plan and budget for equipment and software updates
- Manage post-production facility resources
- Monitor team capacity and recommend staffing adjustments
- Evaluate and onboard post-production contractors as needed
- Balance internal team capacity with contractor availability
- Forecast AI tool subscription and licensing needs
- Plan implementation phases for new technologies
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in professional post-production
- Expert-level proficiency in industry-standard post-production software
- Demonstrated team leadership experience
- Strong technical problem-solving abilities
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Deep understanding of post-production workflows and processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience with budget management and resource planning
