Postdoctoral Associate position available at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at the Virginia Tech Carilion campus located in Roanoke, VA. The role will work in the lab of Dr. Roberta Freitas- Lemos. The Freitas-Lemos lab is focused on investigating health behaviors for cancer prevention and control. The successfully selected candidates will work primarily on projects that are examining the effects of potential tobacco regulatory policies on tobacco/nicotine purchases across different tobacco user types. Postdoctoral Associate responsibilities will focus on the use of the Experimental Tobacco Marketplace to investigate choice behavior from a behavioral economics framework. Other projects may include technology applications to improve smoking cessation. The position is well suited for individuals interested in behavioral economics of tobacco or other substances and health behavior. Moreover, this position will be involved in developing pilot research programs in the areas of addiction, decision-making and other human interactions. The selected candidates will be expected to help develop these additional projects.

Required Qualifications

* PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or appropriate related discipline. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.

* Possess a record of research excellence as indicated by peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

* Possess a solid background in addiction or health behaviors research and/or behavioral economics.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with behavior analysis and/or addiction research.

* Clinical trials experience.

* Programming experience.
