We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Associate to join our dynamic team. This role offers the unique opportunity to work at the forefront of organ preservation and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in transplantation technology.

Position Summary

The Postdoctoral Associate will play a critical role in developing and validating novel organ preservation platforms while supporting the research and development of other cutting-edge technologies.

This is a two-year position with the potential for transition into a full-time role based on performance and funding availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute innovative ideas for new research projects and directions.
  • Design, organize, and conduct experiments, and prepare detailed summaries of findings.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of research, including laboratory notebooks and digital data files.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals to secure funding.
  • Support the creation of training materials and documentation for prototypes and investigational/research devices and procedures.
  • Design and implement algorithms in environments such as LabView or MATLAB for bio-signal acquisition.
  • Perform statistical analyses and apply data analytics tools to support research outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external partners as required.
  • Take on additional duties as needed to support the company's goals.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, tissue and regenerative medicine, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in mechanical design, electrical engineering, or instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with organ perfusion systems or regenerative medicine technologies is a plus.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to work occasional nights or weekends based on project needs.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with expectations to work at collaborating laboratories in Winston-Salem, Raleigh-Durham, or Charlotte. Travel to the offices of external engineering service partners and other locations may be required based on company needs.
