FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher for the Agricultural Research Station, College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology.

JOB SUMMARY:
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately for two-three years for a project on food quality issues with pecans at the Agricultural Research Station under the College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology, FVSU. The postdoctoral research associate will be part of a research team to enhance food safety in pecan processing. The postdoctoral research associate will have opportunities working with USDA-ARS scientists. The incumbent will conduct experiments, analyze data, prepare reports, and submit manuscripts in a timely fashion for project and peer-reviewed publications, train, and mentor graduate students, and assist with proposal writing. Experience working outside of laboratory settings or field work will be beneficial.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology or a closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in flavor/analytical chemistry (GC-MS, GC-Olfactometry, HPLC, etc.), publication records, communication skills, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team-based environment.
