In addition to 11 paid holidays, 2 weeks vacations, 401K, etc. Target Salary: $90-115K MUST have experience with headliner pistons and/or connecting rods at a minimum to be considered Job Summary: Design engine components, specifically core engine components such as cylinder heads, liners, pistons, rings, connecting rods, valves, bearings, etc. The engineer will be responsible for carrying out required duties not only to support engineering and R&D projects, but also quality, supplier development, manufacturing, and field service organizations. Job Duties:
- Create cost effective solutions for design of power assembly components including cylinder heads, liners, pistons, connecting rods and bearings
- Gather and evaluate mechanical design requirements to develop conceptual solutions
- Analysis of mechanical components in engine systems
- Develop, implement, and maintain engineering designs
- Plan and implement experimental tests and/or development programs
- Support supplier development and prototyping of experimental parts
- Support engineering evaluation of field failures and drive root cause and corrective action initiatives to solve customer problems
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- College level training in theory and practical aspects of applied mechanics, heat and mass transfer and its applications
- Deep knowledge of engine and engine support systems including engine core components and its cross interactions
- Experienced in diesel engine technology
- Proficient in engineering tools to aid in design and development of engine components
- Ability to do static/thermal structural simulations
- Experienced in design validation of mechanical components
- Experienced in failure analysis of mechanical systems and developing solutions to solve failure mode
- Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design
