The facility is planned to be built by early 2026 forproduction commencement. Consequently, the first part of the journey in thisrole in our Company will involve coordinating the construction, and theimplementation of new processes, as well as participating with the developmentof a high-performance team and coordinating all aspects of the factory setup toprepare for production. In the interim, there may be international travel fortrainingat other Siemens-Energy facilities.
This role isfor individual contributor, responsible for preparing Cleats & Leads (Internalconnection) design of Power transformers as well as achieve design innovationsand the optimization of the end products in compliance to Siemens Energy designrules, quality standards, cost position and time schedule at Siemens EnergyTransformers Factory at Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.Your Tasks & Responsibilities are as below:
Performmechanical design, development and analysis of the Cleats & Leads (Internalconnection) design of Large Power/Auto/Generator transformers (up to 500MVA, 550kV)and its sub-assemblies and components.
Use2D and 3D CAD software to model designs and individual parts to support thegeneration of engineering drawings and bills of material.
Effectivelycommunicate among cross functional teams and participate in various internaland external technical forums.
Extendsupport for the development of global design rules & R&D efforts on theneed basis.
Collaboratewith other departments like electrical design, manufacturing, Quality, testing &purchase departments on technical topics related to Leads design.
Requirement for this role:
Bachelorsor Masters Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
6+years working experience as a power transformer internal connection (cleats andleads) design engineer.
Indepthknowledge and experience of preparation of internal layout, electricalclearances, magnetic distances, routing of leads inside tank, design ofsupports, coordinating lead exits with winding assembly.
Ableto apply electrostatic/dielectric design concepts for high voltage leads andelectromagnetic concepts for high current leads.
Knowledgeof components used in internal connections like cables, bus-bars, HV leadexits, terminals, insulation supports, insulation papers, bushings, tapchangersetc.
Basic knowledge of special processeslike crimping and brazing
Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
Advanceduser of 3D CAD software (eg. CREO/PROe/Inventor/UG), PDMLink/Teamcentre, 2D CAD (eg. AUTOCAD),advanced dielectric (high voltage) FEM simulations (eg. ELECTRO, CST Studio,Infolytica) and electromagnetic FEM simulations (eg. MagNET, FEMM)
Key Skills:
Excellentwritten and verbal communication in English is necessary.
Self-motivated to produce highquality results within the time allocated, with limited supervision
Effective co-ordination withmanufacturing, suppliers, andcustomer
