The Powertrain Engineer applies engineering and design principles for the design, development, test and release of military powertrain systems and components. Centered around diesel engines and automatic transmissions product design and development.RESPONSIBILITIESPowertrain component, subsystem, and system level design, development testing and releaseBOM development and managementConduct component and system level FEA, CFD, 1D cooling/performance-based calculationsDFMEA, DVP&R and production PPAP requirementsDevelopment of SOW for effort to be completed (internal or external)Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and IPT's through the generation of briefsREQUIREMENTSBachelors degree in engineering, technology, or related degree5+ years experience in the design and release of diesel engines and automatic transmissionsEngine experience build or modification of diesel engines and/or transmissions, preferredPrevious military product development a plusWorking knowledge of Teamcenter and NXWorking knowledge of SAPBasic skills with Microsoft Office software
