Practice Manager II - Bronson Sports Medicine Specialists

The Practice Manager is responsible for the daily administrative and overall operations of the physician practices. This person is responsible for the supervision of all employed non-provider practice staff. They serve as the primary communication link between the practices and departments throughout the organization. The practice manager is responsible for creating and achieving practice and organizational goals. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare and/or 2-3 years equivalent combination of education and experience required

* Requires a skill level that encompasses all aspects of practice management.

* Demonstrated ability to work with and lead a variety of people.

* Demonstrated independent decision making ability and able to work with customers in challenging situations.

* Knowledge of computerized systems including word-processing, spreadsheets, and healthcare-based systems (i.e. practice management system).

* Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems.

* Must possess excellent personal computer skills.

* Ability to establish effective working relations with office staff and employees in a team environment.

* Ability to maintain positive rapport with all levels of leadership and influential healthcare partners (i.e. providers and community).

* Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and may require the use of significant tact in order to handle sensitive matters.

* Ability to give easily understood directions.

* Requires a high level of self motivation, strong initiative and effective communications skills

Work which produces levels of mental/visual fatigue which are typical of jobs that perform a wide variety of duties with frequent and significant uncontrollable deadlines. Work may include the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT up to 40 percent of the time.

The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.

* Monitor the operational effectiveness and efficiency of medical practice operations and staff.

* Implement organizational policies and procedures.

* Develop and maintain a highly motivated and well- trained staff.

* Hires, develops, evaluates, and (when necessary) disciplines and discharges subordinates or makes authoritative recommendations in such matters.

* Provide input on the budget process for the practice and monitor the approved yearly practice budget.

* Report on practice activities, needs, and problems on a weekly or as needed basis to direct report.

* Provides appropriate and timely communication with staff, and providers.

* Provides staff education and oversees adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA) for the practice.

* Review and report on monthly financial reports for practice.

* Resolves patient complaints in a diplomatic and timely manner.

* Develops and implements staff schedules so as to achieve maximum productivity and adequate staffing level of the practice

* Implement process improvement measures related to clinical distinction, customer experience, corporate vitality, and community health.

* Offers recognition of staff in a positive, supportive and encouraging manner.

* Effectively present data and information to gain support of key stakeholders when implementing/motivating change in the practice.

* Oversees billing and collections at the practice site, monitoring charges and charge entry staff.

* Oversees facility cleanliness, working with properties on maintenance and safety issues. Responds to alarms and codes, moving vaccines when deemed necessary.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.
