Job Description:

A healthcare organization in New York City is actively seeking an experienced healthcare operations professional to join their team as their new Practice Manager.About the opportunity:

  • Setting: Outpatient - Ambulatory Care
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities: The Practice Manager will:

  • Ensure smooth daily operations and progress toward clinic goals, including enhancing patient experiences, team satisfaction, workplace efficiency, and task completion
  • Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures
  • Hire, evaluate, and train staff, providing support and direction to enhance performance and skills, ensuring proper onboarding and monitoring team member performance
  • Communicate and collaborate with facility staff to improve system-wide performance
  • Manage and track registration errors, discussing issues with team members
  • Create, edit, and manage physician schedules to optimize patient scheduling and minimize no-show rates in line with the annual budget
  • Troubleshoot operational issues such as equipment failures, patient complaints, inefficiencies, and workplace conflicts
  • Oversee inventory and supply management, maintaining relationships with vendors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards like Joint Commission and Department of Health

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years proven experience in managing and overseeing operations in an ambulatory care setting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate staff
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance, including familiarity with Joint Commission and DOH standards
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring efficient patient flow and resource management
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, billing, and revenue cycle management
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare providers, staff, and patients

Desired skills:

  • Master's Degree
  • Proficient with EMR (Electronic Medical Record) Meditech
