Allied Pediatrics and Family Medicine of Bellmore-MerrickLocated in:Bellmore, New York 11710We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager / Office Manager with in-depth experience managing a medical office. The Practice Manager is responsible for organizing, monitoring, and controlling the business operations of the practice and providing overall administration and coordination of department activities and programs, such as, Finance, Administrative, Compliance, Revenue Cycle, Technical/IT and Human Resources.Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating and maintaining staff schedule (Front and Back-office coverage)
- Ensure patient satisfaction
- Ensure that the overall practice operations run smoothly and professionally under the guidance of the Regional Office Manager
- Resolve escalated patient complaints to ensure patient satisfaction
- Maintain office quality by arranging repairs and other office needs
- Maintain supplies - order medical and office supplies as needed
- Responsible for day-to-day operations, advises supervisors on issues and problems
- Processes appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion
- Respects patient confidentiality always
- Represent the practice in a professional manner and treat all customers and fellow employees in a courteous and cooperative manner
- Attend required meetings and participate in team activities and professional development activities
- Provide a positive patient experience by ensuring patients receive timely appointments, have easy access to information, and have clear communication with providers.
- Improve workflow efficiency to improve how work is completed by utilizing technology and how patient care is shared within the team.
- Communicate to Physicians and staff all informational updates pertaining to operations, policies & procedures.
- Assign staff to appropriate task to ensure medical practice calls are promptly answered, screened, and messages are accurately recorded and distribute to appropriate personnel.
- Serves as the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the Practice and is responsible for ensuring all staff complete required training in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team for interviewing and selecting staff for Medical Practice.
- Assist with new employee onboarding process and scheduling of new employee orientation.
- Communicate HR policies and procedures on a continual and constant basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 3-4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Knowledge of accounting, data, administrative processes, and principles
- Prior management experience, strongly preferred
- Knowledge of human resource management principles and practices
- Knowledge of medical coding
- Knowledge of medical issues and terminology
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and state and federal laws
- Computer skills including knowledge of relevant software
Physical Requirements:
- Onsite position, work hours may vary
- Standing or stooping for long periods of time.
- Mild physical labor to complete the tasks at hand.
- Exposure to blood, chemicals, and other bodily fluids.
- Possible heavy lifting.
