Job Responsibility:
* Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls, and if appropriate routes them appropriately.
* Organizes messages and delivers them promptly to the necessary individual.
* Greet patients and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
* Verify insurance coverage and demographic information.
* Obtain insurance referrals and authorizations.
* Direct patients to appropriate waiting or clinical areas.
* Explain financial obligation to patients or responsible parties and collect. copayments/co-insurance/deductibles as required.
* Facilitate or create appointments for follow-up care, diagnostics procedures, physical therapy, or pain management.
* Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
Job Qualification:
* High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
* Minimum one year of relevant experience working in a medical facility or related field.
* Minimum one year experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.
Additional Details:
* Ability to work within the operating hours: Monday - Friday (6:30am - 9pm), rotating Saturdays (8am-1pm)
* Ability to travel to other Western Nassau locations: Lynbrook
