Job Description Arconic is currently in search of Pre-Treat Operator to join our Kawneer team in Visalia. $24.50/hour is base pay for this position. The Pre-Treat Operator is responsible to executes and maintains the Pre-Treatment program to ensure conformance with ordinance and permit requirements. ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Kawneer rules and regulations.
- Identify material by part number and product finish.
- Inspects extrusions for scratches, dents, cleanliness, and quality before being painted.
- Loads extrusion onto carts and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Moves controls to maintain temperature, flow, and composition of pre-treatment chemicals in dip tanks.
- Dips extrusions in pre-treatment dip tanks using an overhead crane.
- Back up Wastewater Treatment Operator, assist in the following:
- Titrates and monitors pretreatment tanks for proper chemical volume.
- Performs necessary daily tank and burm inspections.
- Maintains all wastewater treatment records.
- Operates waste treatment facility with minimal supervision and follows all work instructions related to the operation.
- Prepares samples for testing, records data, prepares summaries and charts for review, and develops a report detailing activities performed and results received.
- Collects water samples from processed water, industrial wastewater, or water from other sources to assess compliance.
- Prepares sample for testing, records data, prepares summaries and charts for review, and files results received.
- Sets monitoring equipment to provide flow of information.
- Operates fixed water monitoring or data collection station.
- Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of a hazardous communications program designed to protect the employees and environment.
- Assist in maintaining material safety data sheets for all chemicals at the facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- One to six months related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets documents such as, operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Able to read work order and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondents.
- Ability to effectively communicate with other employees, supervisors, and inspectors.
- Ability to count, to add, to subtract and to multiply simple numbers.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with and respond to major problems in a standard or emergency work situation.
- Ability to obtain a mobile equipment license, overhead crane certification, lock out/tag out certification, fall or harness protection certification, and forklift operator certification, are all preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to repetitively lift up to 40 pounds or 1/3 of your body weight.
- Able to work 12 hour days.
- Able to wear required PPE.
- Able to bend and twist repetitively.
