Job Description:

Conduct interview for Pre-trial services.

Supervise a case load of Pre-trial bond cases.

Report violations to the appropriate Courts.

Entering basic information regarding courtesy supervisions, bonds and processing other data entries.

Works closely with the staff from the Courts, District Attorney's office, Office of the Hinds County Public Defender, other attorneys for defendants and the Hinds County Detention Facilities. This position requires secure contact with the defendants and the public.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

or

Associate's degree in social work, paralegal studies, criminal justice, or a related field, and five (5) years of experience in the legal field, court services, law enforcement, counseling, case management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of basic criminal procedure and court operations, case management principles, pre-trial release concepts and methods, including those espoused or referenced in the orders of the Mississippi Supreme Court, geolocation equipment and related software application, Drug and Alcohol testing rules, practices and procedures, mental health services and criminal history acquisitions and dissemination rules and practice, and office procedures and equipment, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Skills to type and enter data with appropriate speed and efficiency. Must have outstanding organizational skills and be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.

Ability to work with staff, other departments, and the public in an effective, courteous, professional, and positive manner, on the phone and in person, to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, in person and over the telephone, de-escalation principles and methods. Maintain confidentiality with respect to sensitive and confidential information.
