Summary:* *Operates machinery to create component parts in accordance with drawings and work orders requirements.Responsibilities:* *Read and interpret complex drawing, shop work orders, and sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.Inspect parts to specifications and document results.Prepare and pre-set all tools needed for machining operation.Mount, align, and contour grinding wheels, and work pieces on machines.Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.Start machines and monitoring displays of machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.Stop machines to re-dress grinding wheels and set-up according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications.Enter commands or manually adjusting machine controls to correct malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.Perform basic maintenance and repair of assigned work center(s).Report machinery, tooling, or quality issues to supervisor.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:* *High School Graduate or equivalent.5 years of solid experience in set-up and operation of CNC wet grinder (Okamoto) and surface grinder (Parker Majestic).Knowledge in running a jig grinderKnowledge of running mill, CNC Mill, lathes and wire EDM is a plus.Ability to work from complex drawings with close tolerances.Experience with low volume and high mix production.Master CAM programming is a plus.Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Experience with gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators and other measuring equipment.Organizational Relationships:* *Reports to the Operations Supervisor and works closely with operations, engineering, and Admin-CSR.This position involves contact with various levels of employees within the company.* *Physical Demands:* *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
