POSITION SUMMARY: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas. Ensuring welders have required materials and tools available, such as rods and grinding discs.
- Lift and load work materials onto welding tables or into positions as directed using hoists, pry bars, and cranes.
- Following welders' instructions to adjust welding machine temperatures.
- Assist welders in grinding, heat-bending or bolting metal components together in order to obtain required configuration for welding.
- Connect cutting torches to gas cylinders or electric power source.
- Comply with established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Start gasoline engines to activate electric generators for welding operations.
- Employing buffers and grinders to clean welds.
- Perform various welding, brazing or cutting tasks to assist lead welders during a welding project.
- Knowledge of various types of metal.
- Operate various tools and types of equipment. Identifying safety risks and hazards and complying with relevant safety procedures and regulations.
- Wear appropriate protective clothing in compliance with safety protocols.
- Carry out various other tasks assigned by welders as may be required.

Education/Experience:
- Previous Industry experience preferred

Physical Requirement(s)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.

- Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Fit Test for respirator wear.
