Preconstruction lead for a General Contractor located in St. Louis with an emphasis on projects in the mission critical/data center space. Develop estimates based on early conceptual drawings, partners with clients during all phases prior to construction, and collaborate with internal teams and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth project cycle.

Client Details

My client is a growing general contractor with a strong backlog of work with a track record that has allowed them to expand their client base to encompass many well-known names. They are at about $150 million in annual revenue currently and are aiming to get to $200M in the next 1-2 years. They specialize in design-build work and assist their clients through all stages of the construction process. They have a strong emphasis on the industrial space, namely data center/mission critical work. They also have close partnerships in the healthcare sector which has given them a steady workload in that arena as well. They are currently participating in multiple large-scale joint ventures that will be in the Midwest region as well as the South East.

Description

• Manage preconstruction efforts on projects in and around St. Louis
• Perform conceptual estimating based on early sketches
• Partner with design and engineering teams to develop blueprints
• Perform risk analysis and alleviate potential delays or cost increases
• Update estimates based on changes
• Gather proposals from subcontractors
• Formulate accurate bid packages based on gathered estimates
• Create preliminary schedules based on project scope
• Manage and grow client relationships

Profile

• At least 5-10+ years of estimating/preconstruction experience
• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field
• Management experience is a huge plus
• Experience with Data Center projects
• Prior demonstrated leadership capacities
• Estimating software proficiency
