A Premium Auditor with SteadPoint Insurance Group performs a timely annual review of each policyholder's payroll, accounting, and financial records to determine final exposures and premium. This includes obtaining a detailed description of operations, verifying policy classifications, and determining the exposure for each classification to develop the proper premium. Auditors ensure quality through correctly utilizing State laws, manual rules, and risk classification.Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Review policy information and guidelines in preparation for the audit.
- Manage workload efficiently including scheduling appointments and phone calls with policyholders.
- Examine policyholder's records and operations remotely from the office to determine the correct exposures and classifications per manual rules.
- Prepare audit reports including exposure calculations, description of operations, and other guideline requirements.
- Communicate significant changes in operations or exposures due to a result of the audit to Underwriting, Accounting, and/or Agents.
- Maintain a working knowledge of underwriting rules, guidelines, bulletins, and manuals as they pertain to Premium Audit.
- Assist Underwriters marketing efforts to generate quality new business and proactively manage potential classification and exposure concerns.
- Special projects as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business-related discipline, relevant accounting or premium audit experience.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, complete assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, staff, and customers.
- Ability to effectively work in a growing company environment with competing demands on resources, time, and priorities
- At least 3 years of workers' comp insurance experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) and/or CPCU designation a plus.
- This position requires minimal travel
- Visual Audit Software experience preferred but not required.
