Kikka sushi is looking for an energetic, hardworking, dependable, Food Prep / Cook / team member that will provide great customer service in the Whole Foods Market located at: 480 N Bedford Road, Chappaqua, NY 10514. Full time with benefits, 5 days a week, weekdays off, (must work all Saturdays, Sundays and holidays), working between 6am – 4pm, (9 hour shifts including an hour unpaid lunch break). OR Part time, 2 - 3 days a week. Fridays, if available, Saturdays, and Sundays are a must, 7am – 3:00pm. This is not a summer only job. The Prep Cook / Food Prep will make sushi in advance and per customer's request. You don't know how to make sushi, no problem we will teach you! The team member will also make other Asian foods such as salad rolls and springs rolls, hot bowls, rice and prep foods for that day and the next day, all while cleaning, greeting, talking to and thanking all customers who come into the area. To thrive you must show up to work on time and as scheduled, have a flexible morning and evening availability, be willing to work hard (this isn't an easy job), be patient (it takes about 3 months to get comfortable with the job), must be willing to stick it out (not quit after a few days or weeks) and be able to work with multi-cultural and multi-lingual co-workers, some who barely speak English. Pay: $17.00 per hour. Per NYS pay transparency law: up to $19.00, depending on years of food handling and sushi making experience. See job description at the end of the ad. Team Member will also provide great customer service that encourages repeat customers, which help increase sales. Product Learn and follows all company recipes and procedures, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards. Remain educated on all products and services, by demonstrating the understanding of our various types of menu items, as well as knowledge of all ingredients used in our items. Consistently follows all product Standard Operating Procedures [SOP's] Maintains cleanliness of the work area during and after food preparation process, making sure all sanitation and food safety standards are followed. Works individually and as a team player to complete food preparations and assigned tasks throughout the day. Learns and performs all functions including opening and closing procedures. Learns and practices all required health & safety procedures. Learns and practices all required food safety policies and HACCP programs. Work with location workers and managers with cooperation and respect. This position is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Skills / Abilities Required - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Qualifications Be 18 years of age or older Have previous experience working in quick service restaurants, supermarkets or fast paced retail environments, preferred Previous food handling experience preferred Demonstrates great customer service skills The employee must frequently lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. Able to work overtime, including weekends, evenings and special events as needed. Have reliable transportation to get to work on time. Must maintain a current Food Handlers card.
