Overview:
The Prep Cook supports food service team in production, serving, and delivery of food to students. The Prep Cook is required to perform basic cooking duties, monitor stock levels, and take on culinary tasks as they arise. Must understand and be willing to comply with food and sanitation guidelines and regulations, be quick and diligent, and be willing to improve on the job. The Prep Cook should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serving students/clients with special needs lunch and dinner
- Preparation, cook, and clean up for dinner
- Pack and deliver snacks and beverages
- Deliver meals to the residences
- Follow the prep list created to plan duties
- Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
- Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat and other meal prep
- Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes
- Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing services and taking out trash and helping ion dish room
- Receiving, rotating and organizing inventory and deliveries
- Recording temperature documentation of food and refrigeration units
Qualifications:
Must be 18 or older have a HS Diploma or equivalent Experience as a prep cook is preferred Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays
