The primary purpose of this position is divided between Continuous Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement for the agency and Public Health Preparedness. Check out for more information about our work. This position will work a regular workweek M-F and salary calculations will be based on relevant education and experience above the minimum requirements listed below. Essential Functions Manage the Public Health Preparedness program for Transylvania County Department of Public Health. Develop, implement, and assure compliance with National Incident Management System (NIMS) & Incident Command system Training Plan for department staff. Attend monthly regional preparedness coordinator meetings. Serve as active agency representative on the Local Emergency Management Planning Committee. Responsible for developing, managing, implementing, and assuring compliance for the following plans: Strategic National Stockpile (SNS), Pandemic Influenza, Pandemic Influenza Continuity of Operations, Public Health All Hazards Plan, Crisis Communication Plan, and other plans required by the state. Serve as an active member of the Transylvania County Department of Public Health Epi Team. Manage the public health preparedness training and exercise program for the department. Serve as NC Health Alert Network Administrator. Assure accreditation standards related to public health preparedness, crisis communication and notification. Evaluate and support compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory standards related to public health preparedness. Employee must be able to travel to local, regional, and state meetings as required. Requires some lifting and carrying of light to medium weight equipment. Physical effort out of the ordinary is not expected in this position.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe majority of work will be carried out at the Transylvania County Department of Public Health (Community Services Building) where hazards are minimal. Attendance at some meetings and training sessions will require travel. Education and Experience A master's degree in public or human services administration or a human services programmatic field preferably with course work in human services planning and one year of experience in human service program planning or administration; or graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of administrative or consultative experience in a human service program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Medical Insurance

- Employee can cover children/spouse/family at their own cost for medical coverage $77.56/$265.92/ $426.28 per month. In addition to the $50 per month for the employee.
