Job Description Mariners Church Preschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Director to lead our vibrant early childhood education program serving children from 4 months to Pre-K. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our youngest learners. The Preschool Director is responsible for overseeing all functions of the preschool, reporting to the Central Services Director on the Operations team. A full time position, the schedule is generally Monday-Friday for a total of 40+ hours. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Oversee the development and implementation of a high-quality curriculum that meets the developmental needs of children aged 4 months to Pre-K.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of qualified teachers and support staff, promoting professional development and a collaborative team culture.
- Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, providing regular communication and support to foster a welcoming and inclusive community.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure the preschool meets all state licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the preschool budget, including tuition collection, expenses, and fundraising efforts to support program growth and sustainability.
- Community Relations: Promote the preschool within the community, establishing partnerships with local organizations and participating in outreach activities.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess the effectiveness of the program, using feedback from staff, families, and children to continuously improve the educational experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and best practices for children from infancy through Pre-K.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive environment for children, families, and staff.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Demands
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
