Preserve WV AmeriCorps
Preserve WV AmeriCorps is the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia's statewide national service initiative connecting members with rural grassroots organizations and public agencies charged with preserving West Virginia history. The primary goal of this program is to build efficient, effective, and sustainable organizations working to improve economic, social, and cultural opportunities in West Virginia. Members' service is site-dependent but generally lasts for one year and involves tasks related to historic preservation, museum collections management, communications, educational outreach, and volunteer management. There are also opportunities to sharpen your knowledge of hands-on historic trades and learn a new skill during service with Preserve WV. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.
Member Duties : The service duties assigned to the member will be based on individual site and community needs and, in many cases, will incorporate a variety of skills. Members' tasks will involve: - Systems development for outreach, program delivery, and volunteer management. - Volunteer recruitment, training, and management. - Communications & outreach. - Historic preservation, archiving, & museum collections management. - Educational services. - Event planning. - Hands-on historic preservation trades work. - Allowable fundraising.
