The Board of Trustees of Emmanuel College has announced the search for its 13th President. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated record of effective leadership with significant management experience at an institution or organization of comparable size, scope, and complexity. Candidates must demonstrate the highest integrity and ethical standards with strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.

The President of Emmanuel is a significant presence on campus and within the Boston community and will build upon the iconic legacy of Sr. Janet Eisner, SNDdeN, who has successfully led the College for 43 years. With the skills and experience to be the chief advocate for Emmanuel, the President will work to enhance the College's financial sustainability. They should be a proven fundraiser who will engage with donors, alumni, and community leaders in an array of development activities.

They will have the capacity to build on Emmanuel's existing partnerships and strengthen the College's academic enterprise by building creative initiatives to grow enrollment and leverage the innovation and deep connections established during the longstanding tenure of Sister Janet. They will embrace Emmanuel's urban location and optimize it to create distinctive, transformational opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.

Candidates will bring a track record of progressively responsible strategic and innovative leadership; prior experience working with boards of trustees; strong relationship building skills; and significant leadership presence. Commitment to Emmanuel's mission is critical, as is a commitment to the Catholic intellectual tradition. While candidates may come from diverse backgrounds, prior leadership experience within higher education is preferred. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree is preferred; an advanced degree is required. Emmanuel's next President will be a practicing Catholic whose faith inspires their leadership.

Emmanuel College, a Catholic, coeducational, residential, liberal arts and sciences college in Boston, has been educating critical thinkers, ethical decision makers and community leaders for more than 100 years. Founded in 1919 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur as the first Catholic college for women in New England, Emmanuel's 17-acre campus is located in the heart of Boston's educational, scientific, cultural, and medical communities. In 2001, the College officially became a coeducational institution, and today Emmanuel enrolls some 2,000 students including 1,800 traditional undergraduate students from 35 states and territories and 42 countries.
