Position summary: The leader of this organization will be responsible for a team of scientists researching next generation therapies for autoimmune patients, with a focus on T cell biology. Responsibilities will include guiding the team to deliver candidate molecules across different modalities and supervising the immunology in vivo pharmacology team. In addition, you will shape the T cell immunology portfolio strategy, partner with External Innovation and Business Development teams, and mentor the next generation of scientific and project leaders. Roles and Responsibilities of the position: Supervise a team of scientists focused on T cell biology and in vivo pharmacology, fostering teamwork, scientific rigor, innovation, and a culture of high cadence scientific excellence across a portfolio of complex research programs. Ensure the team delivers strong data packages to facilitate informed decisions on candidate molecules. Make sure the project team is focusing on a target product profile that aligns with the Immunology strategy. Provide scientific guidance throughout development of project. Ensure in vivo pharmacology team activities and resources (internal and external) are executed and aligned with Immunology priorities. Actively mentor the next generation of project leaders. Responsible for team contributions to research study reports, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for scientific conferences. Collaborate with Immunology research and clinical leaders to develop and refine strategies for T cell therapies. Support the external innovation and business development (BD) strategy with a focus on T cells, providing recommendations to enhance our immunology portfolio. Engage in diligence activities that inform our decisions related to BD initiatives. Oversee external research collaborations relevant to the T cell Immunology portfolio. Ensure teams collaborate effectively and meet objectives that align with Immunology strategy. Collaborate with team members to create and track strong, personal development plans that match employee goals and align with immunology's strategy and business needs. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. and relevant post-doctoral training in immunology, molecular biology, or related field Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology companies Demonstrated success through publications and/or patents in discovering and developing candidate molecules for autoimmune diseases, including experience in at least one of the following areas: dermatology (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis), rheumatology (rheumatoid arthritis, lupus), inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis), and/or fibrosis (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, scleroderma). Experience working with and developing in vivo pharmacology models pertinent to immunology drug discovery and development Experience in preclinical data package generation to support IND submissions Skilled in assembling and overseeing large, diverse, and high-performing scientific teams, as well as leading within a matrixed environment with a focus on innovation and teamwork. Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking. Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to enhance team culture and exhibit intellectual and strategic flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Impeccable organizational skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
