Press OperatorType: Wet offset or RubberPaid weekly-Benefits offered Must have experienceTo be considered, must have a resume and experience!Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM Drug test Required Background Check Required - no theft or assault on background Pay: $17.60/hr Ennis, TX location Temp to permPrimary Responsibilities: 1. Operates a web press(wet offset or rubber) and stays within established and recognized guidelines for volume of work produced, quality of work produced, and waste generated for each individual press. 2. Maintains daily production records by completing the pres Operation Log and by dating and initialing the job jacket. 3. Performs routine maintenance and repair activities such as lubrication, equipment adjustment, and the replacement of expendable items(blankets, punches, dies, pref blades, pref wheels, etc.) Performs routine housekeeping actives by keeping the work area clear(free of waste, trash and debris) and clean(free of ink build-up on machinery surfaces, leaking lubricants, etc.) 4. Reports defective raw materials to supervisor on duty so that Rejected Material form can be executed. Reports production supplies that have incorrect specifications or are defective. Reports equipment problems to supervisor on duty so that repairs can be made. Reports safety hazards to supervisor on duty to help maintain a safe and healthy working environment. 5. Complies with all published company rules and regulations(safety, smoking, substance abuse., etc.) 6. Packages the finished product as required (example: roll to fold letterheads) with properly packaged cases, shipping labels, etc. 7. Participates in transfers to temporary factory assignments(as requested by management).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Ability to apply basic principles and techniques of web we offset and rubber lithography. a. Maintain proper in/water balance to generate quality printing in specified colors. b. Maintain proper sheet registration and length. c. Set-up press bindery equipment to accomplish quality punching, perking, folding, trimming, etc. d. Set-up numbering equipment for proper sequencing and location. e. Mount and register imaging medium(aluminum plates, rubber plates, marginal words, etc.) 2. Ability to read and comprehend all order specifications and requirements. 3. Knowledge of various grades of paper used in forms production. 4. Knowledge of published company rules and regulations. 5. Ability to maintain accurate production records. 6. Knowledge of and ability to satisfy departmental and machine production requirements as to quality, quantity, and waste.Minimum Qualifications 1. Demonstrate ability to red, write, and comprehend order specifications in order to produce salable business forms. 2. Demonstrated ability to perform arithmetic calculations and read a scale. 3. Successful completion of in-house training program or verifiable previous experience as an operator of web presses(wet offset and rubber). 4. Ability to properly select and utilize hand tools in mechanical applications as required operating and maintaining web presses.Physical Demands Requires frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and reaching. Requires lifting up to 25 to 50 pounds also,with lift assistance, lift rolls of paper stock of 100lbs or more.Work Environment Noise level is high. Applicant will work near moving mechanical parts and have frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles. They will also occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.Experience and Education Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
