Pay range, dependent on experience: $16.85/hour - $20+/hourFor less experienced press operators:Job Responsibilities:
- Complete daily job assignments and maintain a steady flow of production in an efficient manner.
- Be responsible for quality goals established by process documentation.
- Be responsible for production as defined by process and routing file and Process Data Sheets.
- Comply with safety standards: Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Equipment Safety Analysis (ESA), and Area Safety Analysis (ASA).
- Ensure that job is run in environmental compliance after instructions from supervisor/environmental group.
- Monitor the mechanics and travel of the transfer system, the build up of scrap items resulting from the process, and report problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
- Monitor parts visually for defects. Alert line leader to repetitive defects, part number changes.Remove defective parts.
- Perform work according to Process Data Sheet, to include: completion of inspection log; follow pack-out instructions, including operation of hand lift; and operation of portable ovens.
- Record and report inspection results to supervisor.
- Notify line leader or supervisor when inspection data is out of tolerance.
- Perform routine housekeeping in work area(s) as required.
- And other duties as assigned.
For more experienced Press Operators:
- Coordinate multiple press operations.
- Responsible for set up for 90 to 1600 ton press.
- Be responsible for quality parts, dimensional plus visual.
- Follow all of the safety procedures: Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Equipment Safety Analysis (ESA), and Area Safety Analysis (ASA).
- Ensure that job is run in environmental compliance after instructions from supervisor/environmental group.
- Communicate with shift supervisors, tooling engineers, quality engineers and other work cell people on opposite shift concerning production problems, quality and related information.
- Monitor lube to prevent shearing of dies, part location, scrap build up and observe and report problem areas in dies to appropriate tooling personnel.
- Set dies in scheduled time frame to meet customer requirements.
- Perform routine housekeeping in work area(s) as necessary.
