About the Role The Press Operator in the Magnet Prep Department plays a critical role in the manufacturing process at EEC. This position is responsible for aligning and pressing green magnet blocks and producing magnet powder compacts using hydraulic powder compacting presses. The Press Operator ensures that all operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality standards. Key Responsibilities Safety and Risk Minimization - Wear required PPE and adhere to all safety precautions. Work Instructions and Process Control - Read, understand, and follow Work Instructions (WI) and Process Control Standards (PCS). - Access Paradigm to review and/or print WI or PCS. - Recommend revisions and updates to WI and PCS as necessary. Machinery Setup - Retrieve materials, weigh powder, and install proper tooling as specified on manufacturing routers. - Follow quality control standards prior to running jobs. Machinery Maintenance - Clean and organize machinery, equipment, and work areas. - Perform required preventative maintenance. - Maintain inventory of wax powder for lubrication. - Request reorder of consumables as needed. Machinery Operation - Operate various presses (15-ton, 25-ton, 30-ton, 40-ton, 100-ton), lathe, blender, molds, hand press, balloon machine, magnetizer coils, isopress, nitrogen boxes and lines, and transverse press. - Meet established quality standards and production rates. Data Verification and Recording - Accurately record data into the ERP computer system, manufacturing routers, logs, databases, and control charts. In-Process Inspection - Perform in-process inspection as required. Adherence to Escalation Policy - Follow EEC Escalation Policy. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience operating hydraulic presses and related machinery. - Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures. - Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions. - Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. - Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
