**Business Unit Overview**
8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings' private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. ( THL ), a private equity firm. Responsibilities SUMMARY: This is a manufacturing production position. MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate and monitor the operation of all long goods, short cut, noodle and lasagna presses and dryers. Monitor settings on recipes to ensure proper parameters are used for the product being produced. Make proper changes on computers when doing die and format changes. Monitor extrusion pattern for proper length of long goods, short cuts, noodles and lasagna to assure proper product specifications. Monitor all drying systems to insure that products are being dried to proper specifications. Operate and monitor storage accumulators, finished product storage tanks and storeveyors. Make die changes as needed using electric crane (hoist) systems and or chain hoist. Able to take product moisture on all lines as needed during the shift. Operate die wash machine. Perform and monitor shutdown and start up of all lines in press area. When cleaning or sanitizing, Press Operators will be required to open press heads assist pulling augers, clean barrels, clean mixers, clean dryers, disassemble shakers and properly reassemble. Perform all duties safely and in compliance with GMP's. Operate and monitor flour receiving and distribution from Miller Milling to silos and to individual presses with proper mixtures of ingredients. Fill out daily reports which include but not limited to Downtime report, Mixer and K-Tron cleaning report, product specification report, press operator line check sheet, Flour transfer log and all die and format change sheets. Operate ingredient transfer system when required, including dumping ingredients. (Egg, Tomato, Spinach) Able to respond to alarms and resolve problems in a timely manner. Understand and resolve flour system issues as they arise. Able to recognize the impact of press run time on the plants success. Able to recognize defective, incorrectly manufactured, incorrectly dried or burned product and knows what action to take and who to contact or notify and reacts immediately. Able to perform minor maintenance upon presses and dryers and assist maintenance technicians when needed. Work well with teammates and communicate with all HP&GG employees when necessary with respect and courtesy. Constantly maintain good housekeeping practices on presses, catwalks, spreaders, press floor area and entire processing area, which includes sweeping, vacuuming, washing and other daily assigned duties. Able to perform die changes and correctly setup tap out and storage as required Must have regular and punctual attendance All other duties assigned by a Coordinator or a Manager. DIMENSIONS: Non-Supervisory role MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Able to respond to alarms and resolve problems in a timely manner. Work well with teammates and communicate with all employees with respect and courtesy. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Climb and to work off of stairs/ladders while carrying heavy loads up to 50 pounds. Lift heavy loads up to 70 pounds. Twist/bend, etc. to enter/exit tight/cramped areas for cleaning and clearing jams. Work in temperatures greater than 95 degrees Fahrenheit for long periods of time and able to work in temperatures greater than 150 degrees for short periods of time. Work in dust filled area with proper equipment. Respond to pages of PA or walkie-talkies. Must be capable of daily scraping/cleaning and sanitation of mixers/ktrons which requires continuous arm and hand movement for extended periods of time. Must be able to perform keyboard functions on a computer. (Not data entry, using press pad, touches screen and mouse).
