JOB DESCRIPTION

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the accounting department and the Prince Resorts Hawaii (PRH) Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Oversee accounting operations, general ledger (G/L), closing procedures, financial reporting, payroll budgets, company budgets, and forecasts.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department and PRH A/P and A/R functions, including the supervision, leadership, and training of assigned staff.
  • Manage and oversee all accounting operations, including accounts, ledgers, reporting systems, and closing procedures and ensure financial transactions are in accordance with GAAP and JSox.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts, analyze data, and monitor results.
  • Oversee and assist with audit and tax activities.
  • Other Duties:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide input and assist in implementing process improvements and systems in response to the changing needs of the company.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Working Conditions:

  • Normal office conditions.
  • Occasional off island travel.
  • Work Hours:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet goals.
  • Must be able to work weekends as required.
  • Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
  • Equipment Use:

  • Proficient in the use of a computer and with accounting software and Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to use various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers, telephones, and facsimile machines.
  • Mental and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use good judgement in all situations.
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Able to manage stressful and confrontational situations, and proactively seek solutions.
  • Observant of employees in the workplace, evaluate their performance and productivity, determine areas of concern, training needs and ability to advance in the resort.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods to perform administrative functions.
  • Communication Demands:

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial information in written and verbal format to audiences with varying levels of comprehension in accounting.
  • Ability to write manuals, memos, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to do presentations in front of small groups.
  • Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Minimum four (4) years of progressive accounting experience with two (2) years supervisory experience.
  • Hotel accounting experience preferred.
