Job Title: Principal AI Engineer
Job Location: Local to Bay Area
Salary: $160k base
Responsibilities:
The Principal AI Engineer role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to pioneer the development and integration of AI applications and multiple Large Language Models (LLMs). You will work on building and optimizing AI-driven solutions that enhance client's generative AI-powered software design lifecycle. This is a hands-on technical role involving deep collaboration with client's product and customer teams to design and implement AI workflows using AI Applications framework, enabling efficient management of AI processes and integrations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement AI Applications: Design, develop, and deploy AI applications using Python and integrate multiple LLMs to enhance client's platform capabilities.
- Integrate Multiple LLMs: Work with various LLMs and APIs to integrate them seamlessly into client's existing infrastructure.
- Design AI Workflows: Create and optimize workflows using framework such as LangChain to manage AI processes efficiently.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to define, design, and deliver new features.
- Optimize AI Models: Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of AI models and applications.
- Stay Current with AI Advancements: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in AI, LLMs, and related technologies to inform and improve ongoing projects.
- Troubleshoot and Debug: Identify and resolve technical issues in AI applications and integrations.
- Enhance AI Infrastructure: Contribute to the continuous improvement of client's AI infrastructure, tools, and pipelines.
- Documentation: Document designs, experiments, and code to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in AI engineering or related roles.
- Expert programming skills in Python with AI application development with frameworks and tools similar to LangChain or Haystack for designing AI workflows.
- Expert in integrating with multiple LLMs and working with APIs.
- Solid understanding of natural language processing and understanding techniques.
- Proficient with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A deep interest in AI technologies and a commitment to staying on top of industry trends.
Additional Skills (a plus):
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
- Familiarity with code generation LLMs and behavior-driven development (BDD).
- Relevant certifications in AI, machine learning, or cloud platforms.
