Job Description:

The Principal will be a leader and direct contributor within our consulting business, enabling delivery at the highest possible level for our partners and serving as a culture carrier both internally and externally in pursuit of our mission. This role is unique in that we are looking forsomeone to contribute to our growing emergency management practices via their experience in the space, while also leveraging consulting acumen to deliver across industry on other client engagements as needed.

The Principal is integral in devising solutions to tackle the dynamic challenges of our clients and will lead the development of client presentations, materials, and events using critical thinking and analytical skills and an advanced understanding of McChrystal Group methodology, products, and services. The Principal is expected to develop exceptional working relationships with the client at the appropriate level, manage projects and personnel, and be a positive contributor to McChrystal Group culture who drives communication and innovation throughout the organization. The Implementation Principal will work extensively at client sites and can expect a balance between executing on client-facing teams and contributing to internal functional areas.

Expect that you will be a part of a dynamic, high performing team and have direct engagement with internal and client senior level leaders - from Manager to C-suite - at a regular cadence.

Responsibilities:
  • Support McChrystal Group's consulting practice by energetically tackling challenges and completing deliverables under the guidance of their project leadership; experienced associates may manage personnel or lead implementation of certain deliverables
  • Capably speak to McChrystal Group methodology, products and services
  • Lead the development and delivery of high-quality client presentations and materials using analytical, planning, and tactical decision-making skills
  • Build products, projects, and case studies that support the deliverables, planning requirements, and timelines
  • Execute project management tasks including planning, development, and execution
  • Ensure client expectations are being met in terms of billing, costing, and expenses
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members professionally and technically
  • Assist with proposals, SOWs, and presentations for business development and sales meetings
  • Connect experience and expertise across projects and teams
  • Actively and positively contribute to McChrystal Group culture
  • Focus on personal and professional growth
  • Further the growth of McChrystal Group through recruiting activity, work in the community, and participation in industry events
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in relevant field required; MBA preferred
  • 8-10 years' work experience required; private sector and consulting experience a plus
  • Superior client focus and professionalism, reflective of McChrystal Group's premier brand
  • Demonstrated ability in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with a high degree of endurance and flexibility
  • Solid analytical, research, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate ideas on the fly
  • Ability to think creatively, with a focus on innovation
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to work on concurrent assignments and change roles quickly when necessary
  • Problem solver with the skills to adapt to changing priorities or multiple iterations of work
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Ability and desire to travel 75% of the time
