ERM is seeking a hands-on Principal Consultant, Environmental Planner in our MidAtlantic Region (Richmond, VA, Raleigh, NC, Washington D.C.) to support the growth of our Capital Projects Delivery (CPD) service line. This role will lead planning strategy, local and state permitting and environmental impact assessments for renewable energy and technology infrastructure facilities and other major capital development projects. The ideal candidate will have experience permitting complex development projects in the power and/or technology sector along with technical expertise leading environmental and/or land use permitting for large-scale capital projects. As part of ERM's planning team you will be leading consulting on a range of environmental and social impact assessment projects to build a sustainable business both regionally and nationally, while networking with ERM's global technical teams to share best practices across the industry. Our portfolio of projects are often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. The position will require a candidate to work both independently and with teams of subject matter experts, as such, a successful candidate must have the ability to manage varying priorities and multiple tasks while forging a cohesive delivery team to meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects.

For the Principal Consultant, Environmental Planner (Principal Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $102,000 – $127,000 (USD). An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
