Overview: Our financial services partner is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to lead their advanced analytics initiatives. This role begins as an individual contributor, laying the groundwork for a future analytics team. This is the first and principal hire for this new function.
The Data Scientist will focus on descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to provide actionable insights, optimize performance, and inform strategic decisions. You will work with large datasets, develop machine learning models, and integrate data-driven solutions into the company's operations.
Objective: Drive revenue growth, achieve cost savings, and enhance customer experiences through data-driven strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Descriptive Analytics:
- Analyze historical data to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Develop intuitive reports, dashboards, and visualizations for clear stakeholder communication.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify new business opportunities and operational inefficiencies.
Predictive Analytics:
- Design, build, and deploy machine learning models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) to forecast metrics such as sales, customer churn, and product demand.
- Continuously validate, tune, and refine models for accuracy and reliability.
- Integrate predictive models into business workflows, ensuring they are actionable and scalable.
Prescriptive Analytics:
- Use optimization and decision models to prescribe actions that drive revenue, reduce costs, or improve operational performance.
- Implement real-time decision-making algorithms (e.g., lead prioritization, customer segmentation, dynamic pricing).
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to embed prescriptive models into existing systems for automation and scalability.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related roles.
- Proven expertise in developing and deploying machine learning models.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
- Strong experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model selection techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Deep understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experiment design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; effective in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in B2C Fintech or financial services.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
