And you'll be guiding the development of the new products and systems that will function for decades as the groundwork that makes the smart gird and a sustainable future a reality.Itron, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Principal Electrical Engineer - Hardware Design, at its West Union, SC facility to participate in the design of new products in the following applications:Applications:* Software-defined wireless and powerline communications* Embedded computing for Distribution Intelligence * Large-scale mesh networks* Solid-state smart electricity meters and IOT device.Duties and Responsibilities* Lead new product development.* Design, analyze and validate network circuit boards which contain MPU, MCU, NAND, LPDDRx, high speed peripherals, PMIC, clock and wireless circuitries.* Work with manufacture engineering in defining the tests and fixtures requirement for board level functional verification, programming and final meter tests.* Work closely with firmware and testing organization to debug Itron meter farm failure and customer return.* Support design and projects in regulatory compliance, reliability analysis and testing and multi-source components selections.Required Skills and Experience:* At least 10 years of hands-on design, analysis and validation experience on MPU, MCU, NAND, LPDDRx, high speed peripherals (USB, SDIO, QSPI etc.), LDOs, DC-DC regulators and Op-amps.* Familiarity with schematics, layout and circuit simulation tools.* Expertise with oscilloscope, logic analyzer and signal generator. Experience with using temperature chamber.* Expertise in troubleshooting complicated and random circuitry issues.* Good understanding of signal integrity and test automation.Education* Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Master degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.#LI-MB1Itron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
