Position Summary As a Principal at Bold Charter School, you will play a key role in driving a culture of achievement that actualizes Bold's vision for a world-class public education. You will join a collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence. You will receive regular coaching and feedback, and will have opportunities to become a transformative leader within the organization as we grow and expand our impact. You will work closely with Bold leadership to develop a deep understanding of Bold's model, vision, values, and culture. You will lead a school-based team committed to achieving ambitious outcomes for all students, driving high levels of student, family and team engagement. To help us achieve our vision, we are searching for candidates with 3+ years of school leadership experience in a high-performing K-12 school network or related setting. Ideal candidates will have a creative and solutions-oriented mindset, the ability to coach and develop teams to high levels of achievement, and a foundational belief that every child deserves a world-class education. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing a deep understanding of Bold's goals, vision, and values and how they guide our work
- Collaborating with leadership across the organization to set objectives and drive progress toward goals
- Leading a team to achieve ambitious outcomes, ensuring high levels of collaboration, alignment, development, and support
- Developing strong relationships that meaningfully engage and invest students, families, and team members in collaborating to achieve shared goals
- Implementing structures that foster a transparent, outcomes-oriented culture; regularly leading and participating in data reviews and coaching cycles
- Modeling Bold's core values and building a positive student and team culture across the school
- Demonstrating a mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in what is best for student achievement
Successful candidates should:
- Have 3+ years of school and team leadership experience in in a high-performing K-12 network
- Have experience and coaching and developing teams to high levels of performance
- Have an ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive outcomes
- Be a person of high moral character with well-developed emotional intelligence
- Hold exceptionally high personal standards for performance and possess an excellence reflex that constantly raises the bar
- Demonstrate an ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize strategically
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to and alignment with the mission, beliefs, and values of Bold, and to going above and beyond the requirements of the job
- Have the ability to work within a fast-paced and dynamic team environment where responsibility for student success is shared and owned by everyone
- Hold a commitment to solutions-based problem solving and previous experience of such
- Hold a Bachelor's degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership, advanced degree preferred
Start Date The start date for this position is July 2025; opportunities for an earlier start may also be available. Compensation Bold Charter School offers highly competitive compensation, in the top range of comparable positions across New York City charter schools. The starting salary range for this position is $140,000-$175,000 annually and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
