The Principal is responsible for ensuring both teaching and administrative staff are properly advised in curriculum development, use of materials and equipment, and implementation of state and federal programs and procedures to foster a productive learning environment. - Master's degree with 5 years of experience is required; must have at least 3 years of experience in an administrative/leadership capacity
- Musthave a valid New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or SchoolDistrict Leader (SDL) certification

- Must be able to demonstrate successful teaching experience and/or administrative experience
- Extensive coursework experience in curriculum development
- Excellentoral and written communication skills
What you'll do
- Serve as the school educational leader who oversees curriculum development andimplementation of state and federal programs and procedures
- Establish and promote practices that ensure the school's academic standards are rigorous, transparent, measurable, and aligned with NY State Learning Standards
- Interpretand enforce provisions of state education codes, rules, and regulations ofstate education boards
- Manage, evaluate, and supervise effective and transparent procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the mission and values of HCZ
- Participate in training programs and conferences dealing with new classroom procedures, instructional materials and equipment, and teaching aides
- Overseeprofessional development activities
- Monitor thecoordination and articulation of the school's curriculum and instructionacross and between grade levels
- Work with administrators andteaching staff to develop and implement curriculum and instruction
- Developeffective internal assessment systems and tools
- Consistentlyreview and interpret data related to student performance and achievement
- Design andimplement the school schedule
- Observe teachers and meet with them to provide feedback as necessary
- Consult with administratorsregarding instructional resources and needs
- Research, evaluate, and improve curricula, instructional methods, and materials forschool systems
- Attend teacher meetings, support teachers, and facilitate positive staff dynamics
- Communicateeffectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Performother duties as assigned
