Maintains programs related to tracking of examination findings, remediation and effective challenge of corrective action through the Supervisory Matters Oversight Group. In addition, provides assistance with managing and coordinating high risk regulatory examinations during peak exam activity levels and new initiatives.Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.How You'll Do ItMaintains an enterprise-wide centralized repository of non-examination inquiries, requests and responses, and any ad-hoc matters requiring attention. Maintains and tracks activities related to Discover's regulatory engagement strategy. Coordinates strategic relationship meetings with senior management/Executive Committee and the regulators including agenda topics. Maintains policies and procedures. Provides tracking and reporting of all regulatory findings resulting from supervisory examination.Facilitates a process of effective challenge of corrective actions. Coordinates activities of the Supervisory Matters Oversight Group (SMOG), including coordination with business partners and SMOG members ensuring best practices. Manages Pre-SMOG activities for unsatisfactory exam findings and related Response Letter process and Interim SMOG meetings/interactions.Provides assistance with managing and coordinating high risk regulatory examinations during peak exam activity levels.Exercises prudent discretion and decision-making capabilities to drive and achieve compliance with laws, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures. Provides proactive, timely and comprehensive risk management support to colleagues and assigned business unit clients by providing guidance within a specialized area or particular business activity. Identifies and communicates information to business clients related to assigned SME, and provides strategic guidance on new or proposed requirements, emerging risks and trends to colleagues and business clients.Qualifications You'll NeedThe BasicsBachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, Finance or related.6+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst, in AML, Customer Service or related fields.Physical and Cognitive RequirementsPrimarily remain in a stationary position.No required movement about the work environment to complete the major responsibilities of the job.Primarily performed indoors in an office setting.Ability to communicate verbally; Ability to communicate in written form.Travel up to 10% of the time.Bonus Points If You Have2+ years of experience in payments.Discover will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position.
