The Radiochemist will be a technical expert in the discovery and development of radiolabeling chemistries to produce therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. They will work in collaboration with team members, other departments, and external partners (C(D)MOs) to ensure the successful development of novel radioligands, enable the supply of radiolabeled compounds for preclinical experiments, and support the development of radiopharmaceutical manufacturing processes for clinical development.
Primary responsibilities:
* Accelerate the development of the next-generation radiopharmaceuticals by leading radiochemistry research and development efforts for discovery programs.
* Develop new radiolabeling methods and formulations for discovery and preclinical stage programs.
* Evaluate novel chelator and linker combinations that incorporate radioisotopes to drive optimal biophysical properties.
* Work closely with discovery biology teams as well as PET radiochemistry to assist teams in the development of companion diagnostics.
* Develop drug product formulations that resolve or minimize secondary radiolytic self-decomposition processes.
* Develop novel analytical methods that accommodate different modalities.
* Synthesize, test and supply optimized radiolabeled compounds on demand to support preclinical evaluation of novel radioligands.
* Support the development of cGMP radiopharmaceutical manufacturing processes to enable clinical development activities.
* Support the filing of regulatory documents (INDs, ANDAs) for the use of the novel radiopharmaceutical.
* Technical transfer the radiochemistry, analytical procedures and techniques as well as proprietary methods to clinical development manufacturing operations.
* Provide technical support for the development of cGMP radiopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
* Radiation safety and consulting to internal teams.
* Prepare and deliver presentations for internal and external team meetings.
* Author development reports, manuscripts for publication in journals, and patents.
