As an important part of our US CTO organization, you design, code, integrate, test, and debug the software that helps make Boldyn Networks' Mobile Private Networks as a Service platform work at scale. We're on the lookout for a driven Principal Software Engineer who can help us architect and engineer the company's private mobile cellular networks platform. Based in our New York office you will be responsible for the future of our technological offerings.What you'll be doingAs part of the Technology Organization, you will work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary product development and architecture team to develop and apply unique software engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to the development of mobile network products that meet the needs of our customers. It's a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you'll mainly be involved with:Work collaboratively with network architects and product development professionals within the Boldyn US Technology Office, Boldyn Global Technology Office, and across US-based deployment teams.Collaborates with RAN, Edge Platforms, Data Science, and Infrastructure architects and engineers to deliver a high-performance Private Networks Platform at the direction of the team DirectorDefines software architecture, develops and maintains code that manages and orchestrates various network and systems components which comprise the mobile network system as part of the continued development of the Private Mobile Networks platform. Establishes requirements for monitoring, management, and reporting on Core and Multi-Access Edge Compute (MEC) systems that help to assess and report the health and performance of the networkActs as the team's Subject Matter Expert (SME) on software engineering, software development, and software integration with 4G LTE and 5G NR mobile packet core, Radio Access Network (RAN), Multiaccess Edge Compute (MEC), and other network systems.Works in the lab and office to develop and test new code.Assists with scripting to automate the testing of mobile devices (UEs) and edge compute systems on 4G LTE and 5G NR mobile networks in collaboration with team members and supporting partners in our lab.Contributes to roadmap reviews within the area of their respective subject matter expertise, and providing input to Boldyn's Private Networks platform roadmapResponsible for establishing and maintaining development environments (Dev, QA, Prod) as well as related CI/CD pipelines.What you'll bringThink you could make a difference here? You will also have some of the following:Expert-level developer in Golang and Python languages with experience developing applications that meet the and availability needs of large-scale environmentsMinimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated progressive levels of responsibilityAbility to work with minimum direct supervision, while working to bring the product's vision to life within their respective focus area.In-depth knowledge of structured and non-structured database systems, front-end UIs, container-based microservices architectures, APIs, and web services.Strong troubleshooting skills required.Expert knowledge of Linux operating system including kernel, shell, utilities – required.Experience with scripting such as Python, Shell Scripting, Perl, and Ansible is required.Working understanding of 3GPP LTE and 3GPP 5G-NR SA mobile network technologies is a plusExperience with ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK) highly desirablePrior experience working at a hyperscaler, mobile networks software vendor, or mobile carrier a plus (Apple, Google, Amazon, Nokia, HPE/Athonet, Ericsson, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, etc.).Strong communication skills required.Proficient in standard business productivity suites: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc. required.BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related engineering discipline.
