When you step into a career with AT&T, you won't just imagine the future-you'll create it.As a Principal Software Engineering Employee you are responsible for the overall delivery process of a software application or service, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support (e.g., troubleshooting) and maintenance with a focus on automation.About the position:Collaborate to gather and review software requirements/user stories, provide estimates, create software design specifications and collaborate with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactionsExecute a specific development methodology through application of various programming languagesCreate and execute automated test plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, clients, etc. to validate test environments, test data and test results, design and implement code fixes, validate outcomes against expected results and produce associated addition to Unit Test, responsibilities may include dynamic application security testing, interface testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing and/or user acceptance testingSupports applications and solves configuration and environment issuesSupports the software deployment processDesign, code, test, debug and document new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality and operational needsAlign development teams to a shared technical direction and partners with those teams in elaborating the Solution and its interfacesWork with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablersBuild high quality code following unit testing and test-driven developmentEstablish critical NFRs at the solution level, participate in the definition of othersDrive and participate in code and document reviews, mentoring team in best practicesCollaborate with peer organizations, dev ops, support organizations on technical issues and provide guidanceInterpret and translate business needs to technical requirements and accurate estimatesEvaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality and performance is achievedWork with team to troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficientlyApply deep technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problemsFocus on scalability, security and availability of all applications and processesContribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable and maintainable softwareContribute to technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirementsRequired Requirements:8-10 years of Software Engineering experience7+ years experience developing enterprise applications using Java/J2EE;5+ years' experience with Spring/Spring Boot, Apache Tomcat, Web Services3+ years experience with Cloud technologies including Azure, Kubernetes, Solr, Kafka4+ years of experience in architecture and design of systems using Micro services architecture5+ years of experience in Unit and Function testing using any testing frameworkDesired Requirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or MathDeveloper nanodegree; or equivalent experienceTelecommunication domain experienceExperienced in secure coding standards and practicesExperience with DevOps CI/CD practices, build and deploy tools (Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory)Experience with Dynatrace, log monitoring and Grafana/PrometheusSolid understanding of fundamental design principles, able to drive design of modular, scalable, and resilient platformExperienced with secure coding standards and practicesSupervisory: NoOur Principal Software Engineering, earn between $158,200 - $237,400.
