We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal/Sr. Principal Cyber Network Security Engineer based out of San Diego, CA. As a Principal/Sr. Principal Cyber Network Security Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You'll get to Do:
Work closely with engineers across multiple functional teams
Review, analyze, and define technical requirements for end-to-end system architectures
Responsible for completing secure network architectures and coordinating with peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
Perform trade studies to consider solutions that integrate emerging industry technologies and standards into the program's systems
Define and develop proof-of-concept prototypes that demonstrate system capabilities
Travel may be required
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal level or a Sr. Principal level.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for Principal Cyber Network Security Engineer:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Master (MS) degree; OR 0 years of experience with STEM PhD degree.
An additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor degree.
Experience with cyber security and secure network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
Understanding of secure internet protocol network design, including IPv4 and IPv6 sub-netting and routing protocols and application of security devices.
Understanding of secure network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/IOS-XR/ASA/Catalyst SDWAN or Juniper Networks JUNOS MX/EX/QFX/SRX/SSR).
Understanding of advanced features like IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
Ability to work on site at the San Diego Spectrum Center site with travel 10% of the time.
CLEARANCE: Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active U.S Government DOD Interim Secret/Secret clearance.

Experience with cyber security and secure network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Cisco SD-WAN or Juniper SSR.
Experience with DoD networks.
DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
A professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP or equivalent.
Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
Experience with network security devices, cross-domain solutions, HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.
Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services.
Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC.
Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML previously Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL)) or EVE-NG or GNS3 network modeling environments.
Familiarity with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
Familiarity with commercial cloud solutions such as Azure or AWS.
Proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio.
Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance with proven ability to obtain special access program clearances.
Salary Range: $118,000 - $177,000
Salary Range 2: $146,300 - $219,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
