Questar III s STEM HS is currently seeking a creative and enthusiastic leader for the position of Principal. Located on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) in Troy, NY, STEM HS is a unique comprehensive high school funded by both Early College High School and P-TECH grants and serves approximately 140 students in grades 9-12 who are completing both high school and associates degree requirements simultaneously. Qualified candidates should have the following characteristics:Student-centered and safety-oriented.Adaptable and flexible.Be a strong instructional leader, preferably with a background that includes STEM education and project-based learningUnderstand the importance of data-driven instruction in decision-making.Possess strong leadership skills that will foster a professional learning environment and community.Possess outstanding people skills that will energize and engage the school community and stakeholders in support of the school and Questar s strategic plan.Is committed to implementing a technology infrastructure that supports the curriculum, culture and learning environment.Previous experience building strong partnerships with post-secondary institutions and businesses.Some previous grant writing experience preferred.Have at least five years of teaching experience and three years of administrative experience, preferably as an assistant principal or principal. New York State school building certification is required.
