Principal System Administrators, internally known as Principal Analyst, infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems. What You Will Do:
  • You will provide System Administration in a combined Linux, Windows, and VMware environment.
  • You will install and configure hardware and OS.
  • You will accomplish daily health checks, monitor, and sustain the environment.
  • You will integrate COTS products.
  • The selected individual should be a professional contributor who can manage small projects/processes with limited supervision and is willing to work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  • You will use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.
  • Provide ticketing resolution and documentation on moderate to advanced IT processes and procedures.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or a master's degree and minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must have Windows and Linux experience
  • Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, networking administration experience.
  • Must have DoD 8570.01 IAT Level 2 certification or higher (requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with developing solutions and documentation for a variety of Server architectures.
  • A working knowledge of Data Backup and recovery
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Horizon VDI, and ESX virtual computing methods.
  • Experience integrating COTS products.
  • Experience with Data Storage concepts and technologies
  • Other Preferred Qualification: Linux & Windows administration
  • Experience with security hardening of complex systems.
  • DoD 8570.01 IAT Level 2 certification or higher (requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
