Active in both the primary and secondary market, David Zwirner has helped foster the careers of some of the most influential artists today.About the OpportunityPrints & Editions Assistant | $50-55kDavid Zwirner seeks a full-time Prints & Editions Assistant to assist the Director and Associate Director of Prints & Editions. The ideal candidate will have a BA in Art History and/or Arts Administration and at least two years of related experience or the equivalent. Superior writing skills, the ability to time manage and meet deadlines, and a thorough working knowledge of contemporary art are required.This position will involve significant contact with gallery partners and directors, artists and clients, therefore discretion and poise are essential.Position hours are Monday-Friday, 10am to 6pm. The candidate may need to work additional hours during special launches and art world moments.What you'll do* Prepare consignments and print publishing contract agreements for artists, printers, co-publishers, and private clients.* Act as primary liaison between Prints & Editions and Sales teams.* Prepare presentations and proposals.* Maintain and track individual project budgets.* Liaise with operations, registration, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and efficient framing & delivery of print inventory.* Liaise with other gallery staff regarding all aspects of inventory & exhibition management: production, consignments, shipping, framing, photography, research, marketing, etc.* Liaise with non-gallery artists & studios to offer artist support.* Assist Director and Associate Director with exhibition research for print-related exhibitions.* Support Director and Associate Director in fielding and sourcing secondary market print-related requests and manage secondary market consignments.* Track print auctions and maintain relevant spreadsheets.* Assist with yearly print fair participation.* Pre-sale and post-sale support for Director and Associate Director.What you will love about David Zwirner (benefits)* David Zwirner has pioneered initiatives dedicated to the gallery's long-standing commitment to kaleidoscopic storytelling, including: David Zwirner Online, David Zwirner Books, Dialogues, Platform, Utopia Editions, Consignments, Program.* Premier Access - to private on-site and off-site events, such as exhibition previews, book signings, talks, and walkthroughs with gallery artists and estate members, and external curators and scholars.* Staff-driven projects and fundraising initiatives.
