Job Title: Private Duty Home Health Caregiver
Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), which may include bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Mobility Assistance: Help clients with mobility issues, including transferring from bed to wheelchair, or providing assistance with walking and exercise.
Medication Management: Administer or remind clients to take prescribed medications as directed by the healthcare professional.
Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
Companionship: Engage in friendly conversation, provide emotional support, and offer companionship to reduce feelings of isolation.
Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands as required.
Monitoring Health: Keep a watchful eye on the client's health, noting any changes in condition and reporting them to the appropriate medical professionals or family members.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including medication administration, changes in health, and daily activities.
Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of the client, taking precautions to prevent accidents and falls.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional healthcare certifications or training may be required, depending on state regulations and company policies.
Experience: Prior experience in caregiving, either professionally or as a family caregiver, is preferred.
Compassion: Display empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
Physical Fitness: Must be physically capable of assisting with mobility and lifting if necessary.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, their families, and the healthcare team.
